Chase Hancock is a three-time member of the Conference USA Academic Honor Roll.

Character

“Since Chase’s first day on campus, he’s always had extremely high expectations for himself. That’s not just in football — school, life, the people around him, or the situation he’s in. Because Chase has matured, he’s learned to deal with things not being perfect, at times. Overall, it’s made him more successful. ... He’s got such a high standard for himself, and he won’t accept failure. He’s really driven, and he’s not really an outspoken person, but his actions speak so loud by the way he operates.” - Adam Fuller, Marshall Defensive Coordinator

Community

Hancock is a member of Do-Gooders, a non-profit organization—started by his older brother—in which they organize fashion shows to raise money for Goodwill. On most Saturday mornings, the organization will go downtown to feed and clothe the homeless.

Competition

In 2017, Hancock received first-team All-Conference USA honors by the Pro Football Focus College Division, second-team honors by the C-USA coaches, the team MVP award, and he was the team captain. That same season, he amassed a team-high 128 tackles with 9.5 tackles for loss, seven pass breakups, two sacks and two fumble recoveries. He is by far Marshall’s most active tackles leader with 215 as of nomination time.
