Colorado State student-athlete Adrianna Culbert was named a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete in 2012 and 2013. Culbert was also named to the Academic All-Mountain West team in 2012 and 2013.

Character

Culbert has been named the 2015 team captain for the Rams. She serves on the executive board of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and is also a founding member of “Rambition,” which is a movement at CSU to get more people involved with CSU and the local community. The Rambition group has arranged numerous community service events, most which include visiting local hospitals. One specific movement was the E.R.I.C.A Lupus Awareness Walk in honor of assistant track coach Ashley Reid’s younger sister, who passed away from Lupus.

Community

Culbert and the CSU volleyball team adopted 10-year-old Sara Robinson, who is battling a brain tumor and suffers from frequent seizures. The Rams were partnered with Robinson through the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation. CSU invites Sara to practices, and the entire team hangs out with her and communicates with her regularly. Individually, Culbert has been involved in numerous community outreach projects, including visiting local hospitals and reading to local elementary school children.

Competition

Culbert is a two-time honorable mention AVCA All-American. She was named 2015 Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year along with being a two-time All-Mountain West selection. Culbert recorded a triple-double against UC Davis on Aug. 29, the first in program history since 2007. In addition to Culbert’s impressive conference selection titles, she has garnered even more awards throughout her college career including the following: ESPNW National Player of the Week on Oct. 15, 2014, two-time AVCA All-Pacific North Region honoree and four-time Mountain West Player of the Week honors. Culbert also had the opportunity to try out as a libero with USA Volleyball in February of 2015. Currently she plays as a setter/hitter, playing every rotation and playing a key role on both offense and defense. Most recently, Culbert played on the Mountain West All-Star team that competed in Europe in July 2015.
