Alana Beard

Duke’s guard/forward Alana Beard was the recipient of the 2003-04 Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award. Known for her scrappy play on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court she was the complete package. Alana also exemplified the leadership and character worthy of acclaim the afforded her during her college career.

During her senior season with the Blue Devils, Beard was the 2003 Victor Award winner of the National Player of the Year. She was named as one of the top ten ACC women athletes of all time. On her way to registering well over 2000 points in her career, she averaged more than 20 points per game and made better than 50% of her field goals and more than a third of her three point attempts.
