Classroom

Alaynie Page has twice earned a spot on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. She’s on track to attain her bachelor’s degree from South Carolina.

Character

Page started every game of her freshman season hitting in the second spot of the lineup, but her sophomore year was a struggle. She went in and out of the lineup and scuffled at the plate. In response to that, she renewed her efforts on the field. Determined to improve, Page worked extra hard in the offseason, put in extra practice time honing her swing and her defense, and in 2015 she became the first All-American for South Carolina in 16 seasons.

Community

Page has spent more than 40 hours helping out in the community during her time at South Carolina. She helped families after the floods that devastated Columbia in the fall of 2015. She’s helped with the team’s annual adoption of a family, which provides gifts for families, and she wrote cards to send to military members. Along with those, Page helped at the Ronald McDonald House in Columbia during one Christmas season. She was a part of the team’s organizing party for a Friends of Jaclyn member. She’s twice volunteered for the Tunnels to Towers charity run/walk. Paige works many clinics and camps, giving back to the game of softball.

Competition

In three years, Page has propelled herself into the top 15 in the offensive record books 19 times. Last year, she set five new school records, including hitting 15 home runs with a .538 on-base percentage and a .805 slugging percentage. She’s been a major part of the Gamecocks’ return to prominence, making three consecutive NCAA Tournaments. She garnered first-team NFCA All-America honors in 2015, as well as first-team All-SEC accolades. The team has won 108 games in her first three seasons, the only team in the SEC to improve its win total over the past three seasons.
