Classroom

Alex Neff was named to the NSCAA Scholar All-America Second Team in 2015 and is a two-time Academic All-WAC selection. He will graduate following the Fall 2016 semester with a degree in outdoor recreation. Neff has a 3.39 cumulative GPA entering the current semester.

Character

Neff has been a leader and captain on the team for all three seasons at Utah Valley University. One of the original student athletes on the inaugural men’s soccer roster in 2014, Neff has led captain’s practices in the offseason and set the example with his work ethic in the gym.

Community

Neff has continuously been active in helping with youth soccer through Utah FC and its academy program. He also has been involved in coaching and helping youth through Provo City Recreation and, along with other teammates, has coordinated free preseason clinics for the Snyderville Basin Recreation.

Competition

Neff has become UVU men’s soccer’s most decorated athlete. He is a two-time All-WAC First Team selection and was named to the NSCAA All-West Region First Team as a junior. Neff earned the WAC Defensive Player of the Week award three times during his career, and, in just its second season of existence, Neff led UVU to a national ranking and an at-large NCAA Tournament berth in 2015. In 2016, Utah Valley enjoyed an impressive start and another Top 25 ranking in each of the four national polls.
