Page earned his degree in history from USA in May, graduating with a 3.45 grade-point average, and is currently working on his master’s in the education program.  As a junior, he was voted first-team CoSIDA Academic all-district.

Character

According to head coach Joey Jones, “Alex is one of the best leaders we have on this football team. He is attentive at practice, locked in to what the coaches are saying and is a team player. He prides himself on outworking people and being the greatest technician on the defensive line. Alex has a great attitude every day when he comes to work.  We believe to be a great leader you need to have great effort, a great attitude and know what you’re doing, and Alex is a 10 in all those areas.” Page has served as a game captain three times in the last three seasons for the Jaguars as well.

Community

Page has taken part in an annual fundraiser on behalf of the Wilmer House orphanage, sponsored by the local Optimist Club, on multiple occasions, and was also one of a select few Jaguars to visit with patients at the USA Women’s and Children’s hospital this summer.  He has also taken part in the “Spread The Roar” student achievement program for elementary schools.

Competition

Page was named to the Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List and was a preseason first-team all-Sun Belt Conference selection this summer.  He was named second-team all-SBC as a junior after recording 64 tackles - the most ever by a USA defensive lineman - and ranking in the top 10 in the league in tackles for loss (11.5) and sacks (6).  Page became the first lineman ever in program history to collect 10 tackles in a game, accomplishing the feat twice last year.  Heading into his final season, Page is the all-time leader at USA with 10 sacks and ranks second with 19.5 stops for loss.
