Holloway was named a team captain for the second-consecutive season in February, a distinction only either other players in program history have earned.

During her captaincy, Holloway has represented the team in interviews and other opportunities.

Community

Holloway is a member and peer mentor in Notre Dame’s Rosenthal Leadership Academy, which develops and enhances strong leadership with programming for emerging and existing leaders. Student-athletes are nominated by peers and confirmed by coaching staffs. The program supports skill-building, self-awareness, commitment to institution and team goals, and empathy and perspective-taking, allowing student-athletes to consider issues beyond those that directly affect themselves.

She is an active participant in Fighting Irish Fighting for Life, a program which pairs local pediatric patients with athletic teams on campus to spend time with them at several different events like holiday parties and movie watches.

Additionally, Holloway has taken part and helped facilitate Notre Dame Softball’s Annual Strike Out Cancer Initiative, which raises money and awareness to support local pediatric cancer patients and their families. She has also participated in various projects such as packing meals for local schools and running youth camps for the softball program.

Competition

Holloway led the ACC in fewest hit batters (three), sac. bunts per game (0.18) and saves (2) during the shortened 2020 season. She also led the Irish with a 1.09 ERA and 83.2 IP, throwing five complete games and recording two saves.

She was named to the 2020 NFCA Leadoff Classic All-Tournament Team and selected as one of the NFCA’s overall top performances that week in D1 Softball after pitching 18 innings with a 0.78 ERA and 10 strikeouts, also posting a .500 slugging percentage and .429 on-base percentage on the weekend.

In the 2020 ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Holloway pitched 17.1 innings with a 0.00 ERA and 15 strikeouts for a 3-0 record, adding three hits, three RBI, and a home run of her own as a batter. At the 2020 Mary Nutter Classic, she pitched 23.1 innings in five appearances without allowing an earned run (0.00 ERA) while striking out 28 batters.

In 2018, Holloway was named to the NFCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team, the ACC All-Freshman Team, and the ACC All-Conference Second Team.
