Milam is maintaining a 3.44 grade-point average and has been selected to Marist’s Dean’s List three times in her career for having a semester grade-point average of at least 3.6. She has been named to the MAAC All-Academic Team in each of the last two years (both times she has been eligible) and to the MAAC Academic Honor Roll each of the last three years. Both MAAC awards are based on having cumulative grade-point averages of at least 3.2 at the end of a semester or school year.

Character

Milam was named a captain on this year’s team. She is a very kind-hearted person who never complains or has anything bad to say about anyone. She is always complimentary of her teammates and is not one to draw any attention to herself. Ali lets her play do the talking.

Community

Milam has been involved in the Girl Scouts Sports Sampler on campus, in which girl scouts come to campus for an evening and learn about different sports that Marist offers. The student-athletes stay at different “stations” for their sports. This year, Milam has also been involved in the Marist women’s basketball program’s Play4Kay game. Each year, there is a design contest to determine the official t-shirt that is given out for the game. Milam had this year’s winning design and her shirt will be a giveaway to fans attending the game.

Competition

Milam has been a First Team All-MAAC selection and Second Team All-NFCA selection each of the last two seasons. She has won a total of five MAAC weekly awards in her career (one Rookie of the Week as a freshman and two Player of the Week honors in each of the last two seasons). In the last two years, she has hit .355 with a combined total of 20 home runs, 101 runs batted in, and 24 doubles. She has led the team in home runs in each of the last two seasons. Her 54 RBIs in the 2018 season are tied for the program’s single-season record. Entering her senior season, she is within striking distance of the program’s all-time records for home runs and runs batted in. She is currently tied for ninth place in home runs and 11 away from first place. She is also in ninth place in RBIs and just 34 away from the program’s all-time record.
