Classroom

Allie Walljasper continues to make strides in the classroom. She is majoring in international studies in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and is on track to graduate.

Character

Walljasper is the type of player any coach would want on their team. She cares about her teammates, her coaches, her school and her community. She is an example of living a selfless, servant-leader type of life. She is the picture of consistency and has rarely had a bad day either athletically or personally. Not everything has come easy for her during her time, and she worked extremely hard for everything she has attained, especially in the classroom. She has matured and grown as a person in her time at LSU, largely in part to her constant buy-in to those who are here to help her succeed. She has aspirations of being a coach, and any program in the country would be lucky to have her influence their players. She has worked a great deal in the community in the sport of softball at the youth level. Many young girls have become huge fans of hers because of how she has given her time and effort to help them learn the game.

Community

Over the course of her time as a Tiger, Walljasper has amassed over 40 hours of community service. She has helped with flood recovery, volunteered at local schools, assisted with Thanksgiving meals on campus and helped out with the LSU Halloween trick-or-treating event.

Competition

Walljasper is an NFCA third-team All-American pitcher (2015) who was named to the USA Softball Top 50 Watch List for the first time this season. She finished second on the team with a 1.61 ERA in 2017 and ranked 26th in the nation in walks allowed per seven innings. She fanned 101 batters and finished the year with an 18-6 record, which was good for the most wins on the team.

Her career accolades include the following: 2017 LSWA Pitcher of the Year, 2017 NFCA Division I South Region First Team, 2017 All-SEC Second Team, 2017 SEC All-Tournament Team, 2017 three-time LSWA Player of the Week (03/07, 03/28, 04/25), 2016 NFCA All-South Region First Team, 2016 LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team, 2015 SEC Freshman of the Week (02/16, 04/20), 2015 LSWA Pitcher of the Month (Feb.), 2015 NFCA DI National Freshman of the Year Award Top 25 Finalist, 2015 NFCA All-South Region Second Team, 2015 NCAA All-Baton Rouge Regional Team, 2015 NCAA All-Baton Rouge Super Regional Team, 2015 NFCA All-American Third Team and 2015 LSWA All-Louisiana Second Team.
