Classroom

Miller owns a 3.862 grade point average as an advertising major and marketing minor. She achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average in the spring of 2012 and has been named to the Dean’s List in the Diedrich College of Communication each semester she has been enrolled at Marquette. She earned NSCAA Scholar All-Central Region Second Team accolades following the 2011 season.

Character

Miller is a tremendous young lady who shines through her character, sense of humor, tireless work ethic and drive to succeed. She emulates Marquette’s motto of “Cura Personalis,” or care for the whole person, and is someone who embodies the team spirit. A captain for the 2012 squad, Miller is not someone who asks for respect, but one who has earned it by the example she sets. She puts her team first and rarely acknowledges individual accolades. She is one of the most respected players on the team.

Community

Miller has been actively involved with several service organizations and volunteers not only on Marquette’s campus but also in the Milwaukee community. Throughout her career as a Marquette student-athlete, Miller has tutored children at various Milwaukee Public Schools, and she has helped to raise nearly $10,000 in support of breast cancer research through the team’s annual cancer awareness night. Miller has also been involved with Marquette’s Cure for Kirby, Hunger Clean-Up, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee, Milwaukee Rescue Mission, and TOPSoccer. Outside of Marquette, Miller spends her summers volunteering with her church. She also handmade mittens for sale with all proceeds going to support breast cancer awareness, as well as other charities.

Competition

A very versatile and intelligent player, Miller has started all but three games of her career, and has helped Marquette to three straight BIG EAST American Division Championships. She earned All-BIG EAST Rookie Team accolades in 2009, and was an All-BIG EAST Third Team selection and NSCAA All-Northeast Region Third Team honoree in 2011. Miller is defensive minded, but also has a knack for scoring goals. For her career, she owns three goals, including one game winner, and four assists. With Miller in the lineup, Marquette is 46-14-6 and has made three-straight trips to the NCAA Championship, including an appearance in the third round in 2010.
