She has been a member of the Dean’s List for six of six semesters and has been named to the ACC Honor Roll for the past three years. As a freshman, she was named to the ACC Volleyball All-Academic Team, while as a sophomore she was honored on the ESPN Academic All-District First Team. Named to the Capital One All Academic Team as a junior, Beck has devoted herself to success in the classroom.

Character

A tireless worker, Beck has also proven herself as a leader for the Wake Forest volleyball team. As team captain, she has organized several community service projects for the team. During the 2011 season, she battled a fractured finger and missed six weeks but still was named to the All-ACC team. During that same time, while the head coach was on maternity leave, Beck helped take much of the responsibility as captain.

Community

Beck has been a standout member of the community and has been a role model to others. She helped with such activities as a build for Habitat for Humanity, volunteering at an adult day center along with projects on campus. Beck also coaches club volleyball and helps out with youth camps and clinics. As a student-athlete she has even volunteered to help out the Wake Forest symphony who needed an oboist for several of their concerts.

Competition

An All-ACC selection, Beck has been a top middle blocker on the team and in the conference heading into her senior season. Along with being a solid defender, she has consistently hit into double-digit kills while starting nearly every match except for when she was injured for part of her junior season. In her sophomore season, she had a hitting percentage of .320 and was second on the team with 312 kills. Wake Forest won 19 matches in that season.
