Howard, who carries a 4.02 GPA as a biology major, has earned UNM Scholar-Athlete all three years and is a three-time MW Scholar-Athlete and MW All-Academic team recipient. She was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team and CoSIDA Academic All-American Second Team in 2019.

She shadows Dr. Matthew Tennison in the Emergency Room, as she has intentions of becoming a medical doctor.

Character

Howard has always been a sincere and trustworthy person, demonstrating strong character at all times. She is popular due to her friendly nature, and also has a sense of humor and sensitivity to other people’s needs.

Howard is a tough competitor who exhibits a great prowess in the outfield. Constantly expressing a desire to learn and grow, she is a true student of the game.

She continues to demonstrate her commitment to excellence in academics and athletics, working hard every day and ensuring her actions are consistent with her words.

Community

During her time on campus, Howard has volunteered with the Lobo Cancer Challenge, Ronald McDonald House Charities of New Mexico, and Feeding the Homeless.

Competition

Howard played in 26 games during the shortened 2020 season. In that time frame, she found herself near the top of many statistical categories. She led the team in slugging percentage, ranked second in home runs and batting average, ranked third in the MWC in RBI, and led the MWC and ranked ninth in NCAA in sac flies.

Howard was named to the MWC All-Conference team. In her UNM career, she has played in 123 games, starting 122.
