Classroom
Keister maintains a 3.41 GPA in history. He was selected to the Patriot League Academic honor roll each of the last four years and earned honorable-mention Jesuit All-Academic honors in 2010.
Character
After being diagnosed with leukemia in the third grade, Keister endured three years of treatment before he was declared cancer free. He then went on to earn a Division I basketball scholarship.
Community
Keister spoke at five Worcester High School Athletic Wellness Meetings/Education Youth Workshops. He has also taken part in the annual UMass Walk to Cure Cancer and the annual Holy Cross Cares Day.
Competition
Keister earned second-team All-Patriot League honors in 2010 after garnering first-team honors in 2009. In his junior season he averaged 10.2 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, leading the league in rebounding and double-doubles (12). He also ranked third in the league in field-goal percentage and 10th in blocked shots.
