Classroom

Annika NiemeierĀ carries a 3.603 GPA in mechanical engineering. She is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team (2007-09), an NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-South Region second team (2009), an NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-South Region honorable mention (2008), and ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 6 third team (2009) member. She is a two-time OSU President’s Honor Roll (4.0 GPA) member, a four-time OSU Dean’s Honor Roll (3.5-3.99) member, is a four-time recipient of the OSU Academic Achievement Award and an eight-time Academic Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll member.

Character

Niemeier will serve as team captain her senior year. She overcame a serious knee injury that caused her to redshirt freshman season. The native of Germany has done a great job of adjusting to a new culture and country.

Community

Niemeier has participated in the following community service projects: Celebrate Stillwater (provides numerous services to underprivileged youth and families in Stillwater community), the YMCA and the American Red Cross. She was also part of group that spent time cleaning up local parks.

Competition

A member of the 2010 Hermann Trophy watch list, Niemeier ranks in the top 10 all time at OSU in points (54), goals (20) and assists (14). She has helped OSU to back-to-back Big 12 Conference championships (2008 and 2009). OSU has advanced to the second round of NCAA Women’s Soccer Championship in each of her first three seasons. She is an All-Big 12 First Team selection (2009), a member of the Big 12 Championship All-Tournament Team (2009) and the CollegeSoccer360.com Primetime Performer of the Week (Nov. 11, 2009). In addition, she was named to the NSCAA All-Central Region second team (2009) and led the team with 11 goals and 26 points in 2009. She also led the Big 12 with seven game-winning goals in 2009 and helped guide OSU to school-record 18 wins and first-ever Big 12 Conference regular season championship in 2008.
