Character

One of the Zips’ most respected leaders on and off the field, Ampaipitakwong has started every game in his career.

Community

Ampaipitakwong has been involved in nearly every community service team event since arriving on campus in 2007. He volunteered 20 hours last year at ACCESS, which is a shelter for homeless women and children in Akron, Ohio. Ampaipitakwong has also worked with Habitat for Humanity, spent a day at a local elementary school and volunteered for a number of Akron soccer and IMG (Fla.) summer camps.

Competition

Ampaipitakwong is on the preseason Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy Watch List after finishing as a semifinalist for the award last year. In his junior season Ampaipitakwong registered eight goals and five assists, helping Akron win 23 consecutive matches, collect its third straight Mid-American Conference title and advance to the NCAA championship game. For his efforts, Ampaipitakwong was honored as a first-team NSCAA All-American in 2009. He was also selected as a third-team NSCAA All-American in 2008. Akron enters 2010 as the preseason favorite for the NCAA Championship.
