In his junior season Ampaipitakwong registered eight goals and five assists, helping Akron win 23 consecutive matches, collect its third straight Mid-American Conference title and advance to the NCAA championship game. For his efforts, Ampaipitakwong was honored as a first-team NSCAA All-American in 2009. He was also selected as a third-team NSCAA All-American in 2008.
