Character

Campbell is a two-time captain for the University of Dayton women’s soccer team. She suffered a season-ending ankle injury in the 2014 Atlantic 10 Championship match but not before the Flyers scored the go-ahead goal. Her injury required major surgery and rehabilitation, yet she was back and starting for the Flyers in their season opener. Prior to this summer, Campbell competed every summer to stay sharp for the college season. After her freshman season she played for Toronto Lady Lynx of the Central Conference of the W-League. Following her sophomore year Campbell was one of 21 players selected to the Canadian National Team squad that represented Canada in the 2014 U-20 Women’s World Cup where she played four matches. The Canadians fell to the overall World Cup Champion Germany in the quarterfinals. Campbell returned to Dayton and started the very next match, scoring a goal vs. #9 Texas A&M.

Community

Campbell is active in the team’s community service efforts. Since 2012 she has participated in Christmas on Campus, in which University of Dayton students adopt an inner-city child, give them gifts and show them the true meaning of Christmas. For two years she volunteered with Top Soccer, teaching and playing soccer with special needs children. She helps with the annual “Kicks for Kids” event teaching soccer to special needs children. Campbell has also walked in many Breast Cancer awareness events with her teammates. For two seasons, Campbell and the Flyers have sponsored a “Green Dot” match to provide awareness and prevention of sexual assault. They’ve also participated in the Anti-Bullying Rally in Dayton. The UD women’s soccer team hosts free soccer clinics following matches for inner city children. Campbell also volunteers at the Flyer 5K fundraising race and was an active volunteer for special needs students.

Competition

Ever since she stepped on campus, Campbell has made an immediate impact for the Flyers. As a freshman she was named second-team All-Atlantic 10, as well as to the A-10 All-Rookie team. In 2013 she was named to the A-10 Preseason First Team. She ended up being named A-10 Player of the Week twice and was also named to the TopDrawerSoccer National Team of the Week. She was selected as the unanimous 2013 Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year in addition to being named first-team All-Atlantic 10. For two consecutive seasons (2013 and 2014) she was named to the A-10 All-Championship Team. Her 18 goals in 2013 are tied for fourth-best in a single season in UD’s record book. In 2014 she scored 16 goals and was named a fourth-team All-American by College Sports Madness. She is also a two-time All-Ohio selection. She has 46 career goals and 107 career points, both third all-time at Dayton. She is ranked No. 35 by TopDrawerSoccer in their Top 100 National Preseason List. Campbell also was selected as a 2015 A-10 Preseason First Team selection. Campbell led the Flyers to a 2013 A-10 Regular Season Championship and the 2014 A-10 Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament berth. Campbell has had a total of three hat tricks in her career.
