Character
Served as team captain the past two seasons. Was entrusted with a large role on the ice the moment he stepped onto campus after Hobey Baker winner Andy Miele graduated the year prior to Czarnik’s arrival. Trusted in all situations and regularly logs the most ice time on the team.
Community
Part of a team-wide commitment to the You Can Play project, which spreads the message of accepting and embracing LGBT athletes. Also involved in Miami’s Swoop Stoop, which partners with the Cincinnati Children’s hospital, and regularly makes visits and participates in hospital activities.
Competition
Two-time All-American and two-time First-Team All-Conference selection. Named CCHA player of the year in 2012-13, the league’s final season. Also was a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award that season. At the semester break, boasted a nation-leading 17 assists for all of his points. That point total gives him 141 career points (13th in school history). His 104 career assists are the most among active NCAA Division I players and are the fourth most in school history.
