Classroom
Skinner, a double major, carries a 3.91 in her pursuit of a degree in communication studies and disorders, as well as interdisciplinary early childhood education. She remains on track to graduate.
During her academic career, she has been named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll every eligble year, as welel as earning SEC First-Year Honor Roll in her freshman season.
Character
Skinner is a team leader for the 2020-2021 capaign. She is one of the most popular players in the locker room and is looked up to as a leader on the court.
She fought through injuries during the 2018 season and is currently preparing to play after an ankle injury in the fall, epitomizing the meaning of toughness.
Community
Volunteering hundreds of hours of community service all over the world, Skinner has even gone to Ethiopia as part of a mission where she fed kids, visited orphanages, and hospitals.
She has also spent time with the St. Joseph East Hospital NICU, UK Early Childhood Lab, Dance Blue for Pediatric Cancer, Kentucky Children’s Hospital, The Lexington Hearing and Speech Center, and the Step by Step Program with childcare for single mothers and summer camps.
Competition
Skinner, a 2017 SEC All-Freshman Team honoree, is a member of the 2020 SEC Preseason Watch List.
In the fall portion of this season, she earned SEC Player of the Week and SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Skinner ranks second on the team in kills per set this year with over four. She set a new career best with 22 kills vs. Teneneeessee on October 17.
