Character

Bronco head coach Jerry Smith on Henninger’s character: “Bianca is an amazing individual.  In addition to being one of the best goalkeepers in the world, she is a bright student, a tremendous leader, and a very compassionate and caring young woman.  As a returning team captain she continues to demonstrate the necessary leadership to inspire, drive, and bring out the best in her teammates.  Clearly, she leads by example, which is wonderful.  Even more impactful, however, is that she makes the effort to reach out to her teammates in very personal and specific ways which requires tremendous attention to detail and judgment.  Her attention to detail and time management skills have also helped her maintain her 3.4 GPA while juggling her soccer commitments including her many trips to training camp with the USA Women’s Soccer Team during the academic year.  Additionally, Bianca takes the lead role in our team’s work with the non-profit foundation BAWSI which has a mission of getting elementary school girls outdoors and active.  Our team works with select elementary school girls on a weekly basis throughout the academic year.  In short, Bianca is one of the most amazing individuals I’ve had the pleasure of working with in my 25 years as head coach at Santa Clara University.”

Community

Henninger has done extensive community service with BAWSI, including the BAWSI Sportsapalooza in Spring 2011.  As part of BAWSI, the team helps at a different elementary school each quarter and their main goal is to get the girls outside and moving.

Competition
