Smith as a 3.20 GPA in business administration. He is a two-time Academic All-MPSF Team member. He was named First-Team Academic All-District XV in 2011, a 2011 First-Team Scholar, an NSCAA Far West All-Region, a 2011 NSCAA Men’s Collegiate Scholar All-America Third Team member and a 2011 Third Team CoSIDA/Capital One All-American.

Character

Smith is a favorite among his teammates and coaches.

Community

Smith volunteered at Lobo Youth Soccer Camp as a coach, coaching kids of various ages. He was involved with local Youth Services Community Organization and its soccer competition for youth of Native American and Indigenous descent. He also participates in teammate Levi Rossi’s project helping bring soccer to local Native American reservations and pueblos via youth soccer participation in camps and games.

Competition

Smith appeared in 47 games through first three years of eligibility. He broke onto scene as a starter in his sophomore year as he appeared in 12 games and started in eleven of them. He registered his first career point that year with an assist versus Seattle. He has an explosive junior season for New Mexico in its first-ever undefeated season as he led the team in scoring with 10 goals. He was also tied for second on the team in assists with five.. Twice he was named to Top Drawer Soccer’s National Team of the Week in 2011 and once to College Soccer News’ National Team of the Week. He was a first team All-MPSF in 2011 and a member of the 2011 NSCAA All-Far-West Region Second Team.
