A biology major, Van Every has been named to the Big Sky Conference all-academic team every year of her career. She currently maintains a 3.80 GPA.

Character

A natural leader on the court, Van Every served as a team captain her junior season. She also took on a leadership role this last summer. Van Every stepped in to help head coach Chad Teichert operate summer camp in the absence of assistant coach Dave Hyte who left the program shortly before the camp was to be held. She is also very supportive of her fellow student-athletes and makes it a priority to watch as many other sporting events on campus as her schedule allows.

Community

Van Every often visits local elementary schools to read to the students there. She is also active in several ISU community service activities such as the annual Trunk or Treat event.

Competition

Van Every became the first Bengal to earn first-team all-conference honors under head coach Chad Teichert after leading ISU with 373 kills (3.39 kills/set) and 419 points (3.81 points/set) in her junior season. Van Every also recorded 266 digs and 16 service aces last season. She was named team MVP for the 2011 season and that same year was also named to the Utah State Invitational and UniWyo Cowgirl Classic All-Tournament teams. She earned Bengal Athlete of the Week honors twice during the season. She was named Big Sky Player of the Week on Oct. 17. In her sophomore season, Van Every started in 22 matches, recording 66 kills and 10 double-figure dig matches. She earned 80 points and posted 19 assists, 12 blocks and eight service aces. Her freshman year she competed in 87 sets and recorded 26 kills overall. She averaged .41 kills per set while recording 131 digs, 18 block assists and 10 service aces.
