Character

Mack is an excellent representative of the LSU softball program and the Baton Rouge community. She is a tremendous teammate and has always been willing to give up personal goals for the betterment of the team. An excellent spokeswoman for the program, Mack is always respectful to the game, her opponents and the fans. She is one of the last players to leave the team’s autograph line and says it’s truly an honor to take countless pictures with the children that look up to her as a role model throughout the season.

Community

Mack is involved with countless community service efforts. This season at Tiger Park, she has created and will champion the “Geaux Play” program. Through her relationship with Miracle League Association at Cypress Mounds, Mack has challenged the LSU softball community to share the gift of sports with special needs children. Fans will donate new or gently used sports equipment throughout the season at the ballpark. All items collected will be given directly to the Miracle League and three local schools that Mack will visit during the season. At LSU’s game versus Ole Miss on April 22, Mack will invite all the children to the game as her special VIP guests. One other service project Mack has been involved with is Thanksgiving with the Tigers, where her team adopted an underprivileged child for the holidays. The Tigers provided gifts at a special program, while also serving a Thanksgiving style meal. Mack has been a mainstay at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital where her team went room-to-room visiting hospital patients and their families to cheer them up with autographed posters.

Competition

Mack enters her senior season well on her way to being remembered as one of the all-time great pitchers at LSU. She compiled a 20-7 record, a stout 1.74 ERA, amassed 209 strikeouts and limited opponents to a .197 batting clip during her 184.2 innings of work during the 2011 season. For her efforts, the Round Rock, Texas, native claimed All-SEC First-Team, NFCA All-South Region First-Team and NFCA All-America Third-Team accolades. Mack also racked up a trio of SEC Pitcher of the Week awards in 2011 to join former All-Americans Kristin Schmidt and Britni Sneed as the only LSU hurlers to earn the honor three times during the same season.
