Pickett is on track to graduate this year with a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sport science with a minor in coaching. Pickett has been recognized to the All-ACC Academic team.

Character

Pickett has been Carolina’s ace pitcher and leader since her sophomore year. She persevered through a broken bone in her hand as a junior to come back and earn All-ACC honors. Pickett has been involved with mental health initiatives through UNC’s student-athlete development office. She is a member of the ACTIVATE program in the Baddour Carolina Leadership Academy. Pickett has been Carolina Softball’s SAAC representative for three years.

Community

Pickett has been actively involved in her community throughout the past three years at UNC. She has volunteered with Habitat Restore, the Miracle League, Special Olympics and Habitat for Humanity in the Chapel Hill area. Pickett has visited the pediatric playroom/oncology department, made blankets, and helped with a Halloween party at the UNC Children’s Hospital. She has participated in food drives with both UNC and UNCW. Pickett has volunteered with the Ronald McDonald House and Table, preparing and delivering food for both organizations. She is also involved in Carolina’s pen pal program and reads to students at local Orange County elementary schools.

Competition

Pickett is a three-time All-ACC First-Team and All-Tournament selection. She has earned NFCA All-Region honors twice and was an NFCA National Freshman of the Year Top-10 Finalist. Pickett has earned ACC Pitcher of the Week honors seven times in the past three seasons. The senior also owns Carolina’s career saves record and ranks top-10 nine additional pitching categories.
