Classroom

Henry is a sport management major with a 3.4 GPA who plans on graduating in Summer of 2007. He was named to the 2005 ACC Honor Roll, the 2006 ACC Academic Team and is a two-time member of the Dean’s List at Florida State

Character

According to Florida State Associate Head Coach/Pitching Coach Jamey Shouppe “Bryan Henry has the best work ethic of any pitcher that we have had put on a Seminole uniform. His easiest day is the day that he pitches. The time in between his starts is the time that he pushes himself and works extremely hard. And from a leadership stand point, you couldn’t ask for more from a senior pitcher. His teammates value his leadership qualities and they see just how hard he works day in and day out. He is a strong academic student and does a tremendous job of leading by example.”

Community

Bryan has participated in local Babe Ruth Little League Opening Day Ceremonies where he threw out ceremonial first pitch, signed autographs and is an active participant in providing instructional tips to local area youth.

Competition

Through April 12, Henry has an 8-0 record in nine starts with a 2.60 ERA; has pitched 62.1 innings with a team-high 63 strikeouts, while holding the opposition to a .242 batting average; has worked into the fifth inning in nine of his 10 starts including six or more innings in all four ACC starts – named 2007 team captain. Opened the 2007 campaign working six scoreless innings allowing just four hits, while striking out 11 against Tennessee in being named Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week. Was honored by the College Baseball Foundation as weekly Honor Roll member for his performance against Indiana. In 2006 became the only Seminole pitcher to ever be named an All-ACC first team selection and is a two-time All-ACC first team selection – the first pitcher to be a multiple All-ACC first teamer. Tied for second in the nation last year in combined shutouts with four.
