Bryant Burleson has been named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll in five consecutive semesters. He earned Academic All-Big 12 first team honors in back-to-back seasons, which hadn’t been done by a Red Raider since 2008-09.
Character
Burleson is a team leader who is greatly respected both on and off the field. He consistently does what is right and is a great example for other student-athletes on campus.
Community
Burleson has been active in the community in several projects with the Texas Tech baseball program and the Red Raider athletics department. He has helped with the Susan G. Komen Foundation Race for the Cure as well as a number of other community events.
Competition
Burleson is a four-year starter on the Red Raider baseball team. He earned All-Big 12 honorable mention in 2014 while leading the conference in doubles. As a senior, he leads all active Big 12 baseball players in several statistical categories and entered his senior season with more than 600 at-bats. Entering the 2015 season, he ranked eighth all-time in school history in doubles (45).
