Bryant McIntosh

Classroom

Bryant McIntosh is an Academic All-Big Ten honoree majoring in communication studies. He helped Northwestern earn the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award in 2015-16 and 2016-17.

Character

McIntosh was named a two-time team captain by his coaches and teammates and was invited to be a counselor at the elite Stephen Curry Select Summer Camp twice.

Community

McIntosh annually raises funds and participates in Northwestern’s Relay For Life event. He also volunteered at Misericordia Candy Days, raising money for an adult/youth home where the residents have physical and mental disabilities. He is active at Northwestern’s Kits, Cats and Kids Block Party, spending time with local youth and has made multiple visits to a Chicagoland youth correctional facility to speak and to mentor inmates.

Competition

McIntosh was a unanimous preseason All-Big Ten selection and one of 20 guards on the Bob Cousy watch list. A consensus All-Big Ten Second Team selection in 2016-17, he also earned USBWA All-District V and NABC All-District 7 Second Team honors last season.

As a junior, McIntosh led Northwestern to its first ever NCAA tournament berth and victory in 2016-17. He became Northwestern’s all-time assists leader in just three seasons and entered the 2017-18 season as the active leader in career assists with 551. He also led the Big Ten with 5.4 assists per game in conference play—the first Northwestern player to ever accomplish this.

He entered his senior season ranked 15th in Northwestern history with 1,341 career points.
