Bryce Holmgren is working toward a degree in biology with a minor in Spanish and plans to apply to medical school post-graduation. She was named to the 2018 ACC All-Academic Team as well as the ACC Honor Roll. She has also been named to the Syracuse Unviersity Athletic Director’s honor roll (at least a 3.0 GPA) for the last two years.

Character

Holmgren has served as the vice president for Syracuse’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) chapter since Spring 2017, and she is a captain for the Syracuse softball team.

Community

Holmgren has a long resume of community service including serving as a counselor at FCA camps, serving as a volunteer at Crouse Hospital and helping lead a SAAC Sexual Assault Prevention Program. While volunteering at Crouse hospital, Holmgren has worked in the emergency department, NICU and medical imaging unit, assisting nurses with paperwork and organization. She served as a volunteer in the Spring of 2018 to help organize the Polar Plunge event, raising money for Special Olympics.

Competition

Holmgren is a 2018 second-team NFCA Mid-Atlantic Region honoree and was named to the All-ACC First Team. Holmgren led the ACC in 2018 in batting average (.413) and on-base percentage (.549) while starting all 50 games for the Orange. Her 2018 batting average ranks second all-time in Syracuse history and ranked 33rd in the country last season. Her career batting average of .382 and on-base percentage of .516 currently sit in first all-time at ‘Cuse.
