Character

Hoover is an extremely innovative and intelligent person. She has countless ideas regarding how to help improve her team and her community and has taken it upon herself to do things such as start a clothing drive for flood victims and help out local youth softball players. She is inundated with fans, and she takes the time to interact and respond to each one, helping grow her sport and her university. She always finds new ideas to help herself and her team improve. Her major of music and dramatic arts is unusual for an athlete, but she has used it as an opportunity to help grow her team in knowledge and culture. She is a great representative of LSU.

Community

Hoover is one of six student-athletes on the team to record more than 20 hours of community service in the fall. She came in at 22 hours, which includes volunteering at the local children’s museum and multiple appearances at elementary schools along and Bingo Night events at retirement homes.

Competition

Hoover is an NFCA third-team All-American (2015) pitcher who led the Tigers in earned-run average and strikeouts last season. Her 1.19 ERA ranked seventh in the country, and she fanned 169 batters and held her opponents to a .175 batting average. This season, she has been named to the USA Softball Top 50 Watch List for the third consecutive year.

In 2017, she earned second-team All-South Region honors, and in 2016 she earned second-team All-SEC and second-team all-region honors. As a freshman, along with her All-America honors, she earned first-team all-conference and all-region honors, SEC All-Freshman Team honors and was named an NFCA DI National Freshman of the Year Award Top 10 Finalist.
