Character

Brawner has had a difficult task of leaving the state of Washington to come fulfill her dream of playing college soccer in Central New York. Being thousands of miles away from home she has made what some may believe a tough transition into an incredible three years. She is well-known around town and admiring young fans aspire to be like her. Brawner is very soft-spoken and humble pushing the spotlight off her and her accomplishments to the team and how that was and will always be her main focus. She is a definition of what a team player and student-athlete represent.

Community

Brawner is very involved with not only the Colgate community but the local Hamilton community as well. She is the point-person for the Raiders annual Breast Cancer Awareness game and helps out with the yearly soccer event called “Kick with the Raiders”. Brawner is currently the co-vice president for Colgate’s Student Athletic Advisory Committee and is a big advocate for athletes understanding what a STUDENT-athlete means.

Competition

Brawner is key contributor for the Raiders. She is a two-year team captain and four-year starter, while also being named a two-time All-Mid Atlantic Region 1st and 3rd Team nominee, two-time All-Patriot League First Team and two-time All-Academic Team member. She led the team in 2013 with 4 goals, 4 assists and 12 points. Brawner has played in 58 games so far in her career, missing only one due to injury. She has compiled 42 points from 15 goals, 12 assists and 3 game-winners. Brawner is the team leader and was one of the main reasons Colgate won their league-leading 12th Patriot League Championship in 2012. She assisted on the game-winning goal. Brawner works tirelessly on the field and motivates others to reach their full potential. She is the ideal soccer player and Colgate’s anchor from the central midfield position. She has had a hand in many of the Raider goals and is a key factor as to why Colgate women’s soccer has been a powerhouse over the last three years.
