Caroline Dwyer is a defender at the University of Pennsylvania and is expected to graduate in May with a bachelor’s degree in economics. She entered her senior year with a 3.41 GPA (out of 4.00). Additionally, she recieved Academic All-Ivy for Fall 2013.

Character

Dwyer is a member of Penn’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and a member of Alpha Chi Omega.

Community

Dwyer has volunteered with her team for Habitat For Humanity. She went to northern New Jersey after Hurricane Sandy and helped clean up the neighborhoods that got hit and helped build a house there as well. Along with her family, Dwyer cooked meals on multiple occasions for families through her church at home. Dwyer also worked with her local church and picked out Christmas gifts for less fortunate families. Through her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega, Dwyer participates in annual philanthropy event to raise awareness and money for women against domestic violence.

Competition

Dwyer has held an incredible athlete record starting as a sophomore in 2013 receiving third-team NSCAA All-America making her the second player in program history to receive All-America recognition. In 2013, She was also first-team NSCAA All-Region (Mid-Atlantic), Inaugural Ivy League Defensive Player of the Year and first-team All-Ivy. Dwyer was one of only two players to start all 17 matches in 2013, anchoring a Penn defense that finished among the national leaders in shutouts (12) and fewest goals allowed (8). In 2014, she started Penn’s first 11 matches and contributed to five shutouts before being shut down for the season due to injury. Dwyer started in 31 out of 44 matches played with 0 goals, 3 assists and 3 points.
