Classroom

Miller is a Foreign Affairs major at Virginia with a 2.81 career GPA. She was selected to the honor roll last semester, the second time she has been honored in her career. After graduation she would like to pursue a career in broadcasting.

Character

Miller is a team leader who has grown into a leadership role on the team. Whether playing off the bench early in her career, or now as a starter, she has always put the team’s success above her own recognition. During her sophomore year, she started the first 10 games of the season before suffering a knee injury. Her work ethic through the rehab process allowed her to return to the field ahead of schedule and only miss seven games. That dedication allowed her to play the rest of the season off the bench to help her team.

Community

Off the field, Miller has taken part in a number of community service activities including the Special Olympics and a mentoring program known as the Girls Can Club (for girls age 7-12).  In the GCC, Miller has taken a leadership role leading discussions on various topics for the young mentees that are part of the program.  Topics have ranged from dealing with adversity, nutrition and conflict resolution.

Competition

A 2011 NSCAA 3rd-Team All-American, Miller led the Cavaliers in scoring last season. A first-team All-ACC honoree, she had 15 goals and four assists in 2011. Her 15 goals rank fourth on Virginia’s season scoring list. Her seven goals in ACC play tied for the season lead, and all four of her game-winning goals on the season came in conference play. Two of her game-winners came in overtime, including the program’s first ever win over North Carolina.
