He is a graphic communication major, which coincides with his passion for drawing and writing, and he has spent time working in web development for brother’s startup company.

Character

Minter was named a team co-captain for his senior season. Coming out of high school in Texas, he was only recruited by Cal Poly, and, after redshirting first year on campus in 2011, he worked his way into a three-year starter. Minter spent time in December 2014 expanding soccer culture knowledge by visiting Liverpool, Dortmund, London, Amsterdam and Copenhagen.

Community

Minter is involved with team’s Student of the Game outreach program, through which student-athletes visit local schools and provide free clinics in addition to giving presentations that emphasize sportsmanship, educational responsibility and healthy lifestyle choices. He has served as a counselor for the Catalyst Camps series in San Luis Obispo, working with youth players to refine their skills and also worked youth clinics in Dallas and Des Moines.

Competition

Minter entered his senior season as one of 30 players named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List for the national collegiate player of the year. He was named the 2014 Big West Conference Midfielder of the Year and to the NSCAA All-Far West Region and All-Big West first teams after ranking second among conference players in assists (five), third in goals (seven) and points (19) and sixth in shot attempts (53). He started 38 of Cal Poly’s last 40 matches entering 2015 season, and, in Cal Poly program history, he ranks second all-time with 15 career assists and ninth with 33 points.
