Classroom

A Kogod School of Business student-athlete, concentrating in Business Administration at American University in Washington, D.C., Seigfreid boasts a 3.64 cumulative GPA and was selected as the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year last season. Additionally, Seigfreid earned his second-straight selection to the Academic All-Patriot League team in 2012. He is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll honoree, earning a 3.92 GPA last semester.

Character

Seigfreid may be known for leading the Patriot League in points last season, but his sense of the moment may be just as valuable. Known as a “gamer,” always stepping up in the biggest moments and constantly relied upon by his teammates, his ability to keep situation light, with a fantastic sense of humor is a character that is often overlooked. While he may not be the most vocal player on the field or in the locker room, his ability to know when to speak and act, and do so in the most pivotal moments, is his defining characteristic.

Community

In addition to leading the Patriot League on the field (17 points, First Team All-League) and in the classroom (PL Scholar-Athlete of the Year), Seigfreid puts special emphasis on giving back to local youths in his native Pittsburgh, Pa. He serves as a volunteer assistant coach for the Beadling U17 & U18 Soccer Club while also branching off the pitch as a volunteer assistant coach for the Mt. Lebanon Little League. Seigfreid has also served as Special Olympics soccer volunteer while training and coaching players at the Pittsburgh Central Catholic Summer camps.

Competition

Seigfreid led the Patriot League with 17 points on five goals and a conference-best seven assists last season, garnering First Team All-Patriot League accolades. He was a three-time conference Player of the Week in 2012, as well as an ECAC Offensive Player of the Week. He was also an NSCAA All Mid-Atlantic Third Team selection. In his career he has played in 58 games, making 40 starts with six career goals and 14 assists.
