Bender, an outstanding student-athlete, is studying health science at Quinnipiac. He carries a 3.58 GPA and has been named to the Dean’s List seven times.

In 2019, Bender was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team.

He has always prided himself on being successful in the classroom while thriving on the baseball diamond.

Character

Colton Bender is one of the finest examples of a Quinnipiac baseball student-athlete there is, as he has led by example throughout his time on campus. He is so polite to those around him, and always cares about the image he portrays for himself and Quinnipiac baseball. His character is portrayed through the kindness he displays, his work in the class, community and on the field.

Community

Bender has led by example and is a great example of a Quinnipiac student-athlete. He is respectful to those around him, always mindful of the image he portrays for himself and his team.

He has displayed tremendous character through the kindness he displays and his work in the classroom, community, and field.

Competition

For his career at Quinnipiac, Bender has played in 98 games with 91 starts. He has tallied a .303 BA, 107 hits, 51 RBIs, and 38 runs.

He is an excellent defensive catcher, throwing out 29 of 105 baserunners attempting to steal. Bender has only committed 12 total errors and did not have any in 2020.

In 2019, Bender was named to the All-MAAC second team, All-New England third team, and the Buster Posey Award Watch List. During the season, he had 66 hits, 32 RBIs, and 26 runs while leading Quinnipiac to their first MAAC championship in program history. They had a program record 30 wins.

Over the 2019 summer, he was named to the All-NECBL first team. Bender played with some of the best college baseball players in the country.
