A business major, Zindel has twice been selected to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference all-academic team. To be selected to the team, one must maintain at least a 3.2 GPA while being of at least sophomore standing.
With his terrific play on the field and outstanding work in the classroom, Zindel is considered one of the team’s leaders. He was named a team captain for his senior year.
Zindel is active in the community, having participated in the 2010-11 school year launch of “Project Mobile” at Hagan Elementary School in Poughkeepsie, NY. The project entails Marist student-athletes reading to the elementary-school students and then partaking in various sports on the school playground with them.
Zindel was named first-team all-MAAC as a junior, and second-team all-MAAC as a freshman and sophomore. He enters this season in seventh place all-time on the school’s career points list with 139. He has led the team in assists and points in all three years of his career, and also led Marist in goals as a freshman. In 2010, his 2.07 assists per game ranked sixth in the country.
