Classroom

Dan has been named to the Atlantic Hockey All-Academic team in both his sophomore and junior seasons. He carries a 3.2 GPA and majors in marketing with a minor in information design and corporate communication.

Character

Dan is the senior leader on this year’s team. However, the depth of Dan’s character can best be seen in his work with Team IMPACT and a boy named Michael Eden, who passed away in May from a rare form of cancer. Team IMPACT is an organization that provides kids with life-threatening illnesses the chance to realize their sports dreams and Michael was given the chance to become an honorary member of the team. Dan took a leading role in welcoming their new teammate, skating around and shooting pucks with him after practices and games. When Michael became very sick last April and May, Dan was always there to visit him in the hospital. When Michael and his family were honored before Bentley’s first home game on Oct. 16, Dan was the natural choice to be the team ambassador to Michael’s family and greet them on the ice.

Community

Dan is the hockey team’s representative for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee at Bentley. He is also Bentley’s Team IMPACT campus ambassador.

Competition

Despite being only 5-8, Dan is a fierce competitor, never afraid to mix it up and do the dirty work in the corners against players much bigger than him. Last season he was tied for 7th on the team in scoring with 14 points on eight goals and six assists as Bentley had one of the most successful seasons in program history, winning 16 games and advancing to the Atlantic Hockey quarterfinals, where they pushed favored RIT to three games in a best-of-three series. As a sophomore Dan was tied for 5th on the team in scoring with 15 points on six goals and nine assists. As a freshman he was 4th on the team in points with 20 on six goals and 14 assists.
