Character

Goldsmith was elected by his teammates as a captain in both 2015 and 2016. “David is one of my favorite student-athletes to work with. He is extremely appreciative of all the support provided by coaches, staff, athletic trainers, academic staff, professors and others. Every time—every time—you pass him in the hallway or see him on the field, he stops to have a conversation with you. Even as he was named National Player of the Week by four outlets last week, in every interview, he went out of his way to discuss team success and goals moving forward.” - SID John Dedman

Community

Goldsmith has been heavily involved in the community during his time at Butler. He has been active with the St. Mary’s Childhood Center Shoebox Christmas wrapping by wrapping shoe boxes with Butler athletes in order to give to children at the center Christmas gifts for the past three years. Goldsmith has been a Top Soccer session volunteer in which he spent a session working with disabled children and adults coaching them in soccer and other movement skills. He also was a part of the Fundraiser on the Human Movement Board in which he was in charge of raising money for the Human Movement Club.
