Dee Davis

Dee Davis

Dee is majoring in communication studies, and is scheduled to graduate this May. She is interested in pursuing a career in sports broadcasting when she is done playing basketball.

A four-year starter at point guard, Davis is the consummate senior leader on the program — constantly coaching and encouraging her fellow teammates. She is the school’s leader in career assists and recently became the 27th Commodore to score 1,000 points.

Senior Dee Davis was honored this season as one of 12 student-athletes on the SEC Community Service Team this year. Davis spearheaded Vanderbilt’s “Building ‘Dores” program, which encourages area youth to become more physically fit through an incentive-based activity schedule. She made several appearances at local schools and was featured in a DVD about the program, which rewarded children for monitoring their physical activity with opportunities to attend Commodore sporting events. The Cincinnati, Ohio native also helped organize team appearances at Nashville’s annual Race for the Cure, We Care For Kids Day and the SAAC Christmas Party. Additionally, she volunteered at the Buddy Walk, October Fest, Kids’ Zone and Vanderbilt’s Field Day.
