Deion Tansel is an excellent student, and last year he was named Academic All-MAC with a GPA of 3.21. In 2014, Tansel was named Academic All-MAC Honorable Mention.
Character
Tansel is a leader on the field. As a senior and one of the best hitters on the team, his teammates look up to to him on and off the field. Tansel also is friendly and respectful with staff, coaches, teammates and friends.
Community
Tansel and the Rockets volunteer at many different organizations in the off-season including the Boys & Girls Club of America. One of the activities they participated in through the organization was pumpkin carving with the members during the fall.
Competition
Tansel is one of the best players in the Mid-American Conference. He was recently named first-team All-MAC, All-MAC Defensive Team and the Defensive Player of the Year in the conference. Tansel led in many major categories in 2015, including batting average.
