Hopkins was a second team Capital One Academic All-America selection in 2011 and three-time ACC All-Academic football team member. He graduated in 2011 with a degree in media and communication studies and is pursuing a master’s in international affairs.

Character

Hopkins shows a high level of intelligence and is a pleasure with which to work.  Dustin’s strengths are his personal interactions with the people he deals with, in group and one-on-one settings, not to mention his ability to focus on the task at hand.

Community

In 2011 and 2012, Hopkins was recognized by the ACC as a “Top 6 for Service” honoree which is an award determined by each school recognizing an individual that has demonstrated outstanding community service and community relations. A “Top 6 for Service” award recipient is dedicated to serving others and has shown a passion for enriching the lives of other. He also was recognized by the FSU athletics department for the second straight year in 2012 as a Golden Nole honoring the contributions a student-athlete makes on the field, in the classroom and in the community.

Competition

One of the nation’s top kickers heading in 2012 after being named a finalist for the Lou Groza Award in 2011, which is given to the nation’s top kicker. Enters his final season chasing the FSU and ACC career scoring records needing just 68 points to become the all-time leading scorer in FSU and ACC history. Brings a school record 130 consecutive PATs into the season.
