Dylan Alderman carries a 3.54 cumulative grade-point average into his final semester at Hofstra. Pursuing a degree in finance, he is a three-time Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner’s Academic Award recipient. Alderman is also a four-time Hofstra University Dean’s List student.

Character

Alderman is a true model of a student-athlete. He is one of the 2018 Hofstra University men’s lacrosse team’s tri-captains and is a team leader and organizer of off-the-field and community service events for the team.

Community

Alderman has been a volunteer for the annual Long Island Christmas/Holiday Magic event for needy children, wrapping and delivering gifts as well as wearing costumes for the annual party. He has also been involved in the Hofstra Shake-a Rake campaign for elderly homeowners in the Hempstead/Uniondale community. He also has been a volunteer playmate at the Viscardi School for children with disabilities. In addition, he was a four-time participant in the Firefighter Stephen Siller Memorial Tunnel-to-Towers Charity Run/Walk in downtown Manhattan.

Competition

Alderman was an All-CAA First Team selection in 2017. He started all 14 games and was third on the team with 36 points. He was fifth on the team with 18 goals and second on the team with 18 assists. He ranked third in the CAA in assists and 10th in the league in points per game. He recorded four multi-goal games including four against UMass and three against UNC and Towson. He is credited with the game-winning goal against Stony Brook, and he posted six multi-assist contests including three at UNC. He had nine multi-point games including six points at UNC, five vs. UMass and four against Stony Brook and Towson.

In 2016 as a sophomore, Alderman played in 11 games and started four: North Carolina, Princeton, NJIT and Georgetown. He tallied seven goals and two assists for nine points. He recorded a season-high two goals in the OT win at Massachusetts and posted assists against NJIT and Massachusetts.

As a freshman, he was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team, playing in 14 games and starting 12. He was fourth on the team with 18 points on seven goals and 11 assists and recorded a season-high two goals against Marist and dished out a season-high three assists against St. John’s and two vs. Providence.
