Classroom

With one degree already under his belt, Dylan Leslie will enter the Kinesiology Masters Program this fall. Leslie graduated Magna Cum Laude in sports and rec management and was a finalist for Saint Mary’s Valedictorian. He also received multiple academic awards, including first-team CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine All-District Scholar-Athlete, West Coast Conference All-Academic team, the Kinesiology Senior Department award and the George R. McKeon Senior Male Student-Athlete award. In addition, Leslie’s a six-time Dean’s List honoree.

Character

Leslie is going into his third season as team captain and leads the team both athletically and academically. Last season, Leslie led his team to their first ever NCAA Tournament appearance and the best record in program history after overcoming a torn ACL, meniscus and hairline fracture of his knee cap that kept him out of the 2008 season. Leslie’s strong work ethic got him back on the field a year after his injury, playing even better than he was prior to it. The WCC asked Leslie to be a part of its Sportsmanship Campaign commercial.

Community

Leslie has participated in several community projects, including helping build Saint Mary’s Garden on-campus in 2009, participating in the Oakland Children’s Hospital 5K in 2008, working men’s soccer summer camps every year and volunteering time to clean up Moraga Common Park each year.

Competition

As a junior Leslie bounced back from injury and earned first-team All-WCC honors for the second time. He led the team in points (15) and assists (9) and was also honored as a second-team All-NSCAA Far West Region selection. As a freshman Leslie was named to the All-WCC second team.
