He is one of the most likable figures on campus and has embraced the whole community, and the people have shown that respect in return. He is a leader on the floor, and he is one of the hardest workers on the team. He played a pivotal role in turning the 4th-youngest team in the country into a championship squad in the span of just one year.

Community

Egidijus Mockevicius has served countless hours in the community. Every year since his arrival, the whole team has participated in assisting with the set-up for the Komen Race for the Cure. Another rewarding experience for everyone was the Dream Center in Evansville where they mentored kids and made a difference in their lives. On top of that, he has performed numerous hospital visits, taking time to visit with those less fortunate and working to lift their spirits.

Competition

Egidijus Mockevicius made his way onto the All-Missouri Valley Conference First Team as a junior while earning two spots on the All-Defensive Team for his efforts. Mockevicius has led the MVC in rebounding in each of the last two years and has also been in the top two in the league in shooting percentage and blocked shots as a sophomore and junior. He set the UE Division I record for double-doubles as a junior, posting four. It was 4th-best in the NCAA. His 9.9 rebounds per game also ranked near the top of the nation, checking in at 19th.
