Classroom

O’Connor was named Academic All-Summit League and to the DI-AAA ADA Scholar-Athlete Team in 2013 She is a three time Distinguished Scholar on the Summit League Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll and a two time member of the Summit League Commissioner’s List of Academic Excellence. Her career aspiration is to be an Oral Surgeon, specifically for underprivileged children. She holds a cumulative GPA of 3.99.

Character

O’Connor serves as the SAAC President at UMKC and is a member of the Pre-Dental Society. She is a team captain who has overcome two knee surgeries in her playing career.

Community

O’Connor has volunteered at the Guadalupe Centers Inc. (10+ hours), at Della Lamb Adult Education Center (20 + hours) and with Operation Breakthrough (25+ hours up to this point, will log a total of over 350 hours with spring volunteer internship) She takes part in UMKC’s Pre-Dental Society, visits elementary schools to promote reading and has volunteered at Morning Glory Cafe Soup Kitchen.

Competition

O’Connor holds the UMKC record for free throws in a game (17), season and career. Her freshman records include: games started (28) and free throws (79). She ranks fourth in school history in FT% (81.9%) and assists (348), ninth in points (1,134) and 10th in scoring (12.3) and steals (148). She led the ‘Roos in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals as a junior, assists as a sophomore and scoring and assists as a freshman. She was named to the Summit League All-Newcomer Team and Lady Osprey Holiday Tournament MVP as a freshman, named Honorable Mention All-Summit League and Third Team All-Summit League by College Sports Madness as a sophomore and named First Team All-Summit League, Second Team All-Summit League by College Sports Madness, 3x Summit League Player of the Week and to the Air Force Classic All-Tournament Team as a junior. She scored her 1,000th career point and hit the game winning shot at buzzer to beat North Dakota State on Jan. 31, 2013.
