Classroom

Eric Scott holds a 3.45 GPA and is pursuing an economics major. He also studied abroad at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the summer of 2014 where he took a public finance course and received credit towards his major. He also has received Ivy League Honor Roll honors.

Character

Scott has consistently put the team first. His humility as an All-American midfielder far outweighs his talent. He has the utmost respect of his teammates and coaching staff, and he often is involved in important decisions within the program.

When speaking of his work ethic, Scott is the first one on the practice field every day and the last to leave, and his moral excellence has left Yale Lacrosse in a better place.

Community

Scott worked with Charity Lacrosse in Samara, Costa Rica, during the summer of 2012, with a program that spreads the game of lacrosse while helping local communities. He led clinics for local kids to introduce them to lacrosse while renovating local fields and beaches. He also has volunteered for the Vs Cancer Foundation through a team initiative to raise money for national cancer research and support children undergoing treatment in the New Haven area. Scott has participated with the New Haven’s Smilow Cancer Hospital where he visited children undergoing treatment and has been part of New Haven Inner City Lacrosse through which he helped run clinics for local teenage lacrosse players.

Competition

In 2016 Scott received honors as a second-team All-Ivy honoree and a second-team All-New England selection. He played in all 16 games and was second on the team in shots (100) and assists (17) and third in points (36). His best game was against St. John’s with 3-2-5.

In 2015 he was a first-team All-New England member and played in all 16 games, mostly in the Bulldogs’ first midfield. He was fourth on the team in scoring with 28 points, 22 goals and six assists. Scott was named to the Ivy League weekly honor roll following his scoring a career-high four goals at No. 8 UAlbany and netting the overtime winner versus Fairfield.

In 2014 Scott was a member of the first midfield and played in all 14 games, going 7-5-12.
