Classroom

Weigman has a 3.87 cumulative GPA as a finance major in the prestigious IU Kelley School of Business. He is the first student-athlete in the IUPUI men’s soccer program’s history to have earned multiple first team Academic All-District Awards. He is a three-time academic all-conference pick and two-time Summit League Commissioners List of Academic Excellence honoree.

Character

Weigman was chosen by the coaches to take over the captain’s role early in his junior season. Despite being quiet by nature, he took it upon himself to boost the team into the regional rankings and earn a spot in the four-team Summit League Tournament. Although his personal numbers diminished, the coaches credited his leadership for helping such a young team reach the postseason.

Community

Weigman has volunteered with the National Kidney Foundation. He is part of the Kelley Direct Mentor program, helping other business students on campus. He helped build a house in the community with Habitat for Humanity and worked with the Salvation Army for their Coats for Kids program. Weigman has done various volunteer activities for Gleaners Food Bank and has worked soccer clinics for the Urban Soccer Showcase along with volunteering at Riley Children’s Hospital during Dr. Suess’s birthday.

Competition

Weigman is a two-time second team all-league selection. He has 13 career goals and nine assists entering his senior season. He has three career game-winning goals and has helped IUPUI earn a regional ranking during two of his three seasons in the program.
