Classroom

An extremely talented and creative artist, Erin Miller designed the 2016 Sooner team poster. She has raised her cumulative GPA every semester after changing her degree to art and visual communications as a sophomore. Miller is a five-time Sooner Scholar-Athlete, a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll and also a one-time member of the dean’s honor roll (3.50-3.99 GPA). Miller was named to 2015 Big 12 All-Academic First Team.

Character

Miller brings a steady presence on the field, at the plate and in the dugout for the Sooners. She has grown into her role as a team leader in part because of her renewed commitment to academics. Being able to block out all the chatter and respond at the plate when the Sooners need her most makes Miller that much more valuable to the team. She uses her amazing creative ability for the good of the program.

Community

Miller is the first to step up when volunteers are needed or the team has community service project planned. She uses her artistic talent to however they are needed to improve the community.

Competition

Miller was named to the 2015 NCAA Midwest All-Region Team and the 2015 All-Big 12 First Team. She entered her senior season with a .337 batting average and was tied for 10th on the all-time OU career list in triples. Coming off her best season, Miller started and played in 55 of OU’s 58 games. She led the team in stolen bases and triples and also led the Big 12 in triples and triples per game. At the start of this season, Miller was ranked third in runs per game, 13th nationally in triples and had been a key player in three consecutive Big 12 titles. Miller saw significant playing time during OU’s 2013 National Title run. Prior to 2016, she had played in 153 games with 96 starts (out of 183 total), and her career slugging percentage was .556 with a career fielding percentage of .963.
