Classroom

In the classroom, Tresselt is Texas’ leading scholar, carrying a 3.53 cumulative GPA in finance/pre-med. She has twice been named the Texas Softball Academic MVP (2008, 2009) and has earned Academic All-Big 12 First Team honors in each of the past two seasons (2008, 2009). In 2009, she garnered ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Second Team honors. Tresselt has been named to the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll in each of her seven semesters at Texas.

Character

In 2009, Tresselt was selected from all Texas athletes to receive the UT Athletics Coca Cola Solid Citizen Award. This season Tresselt was voted team captain by her teammates for her hard work and leadership throughout the previous year. The senior spearheaded Texas Softball’s summer workouts in 2009, while spending the remainder of her time preparing for her future and studying for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). Tresselt represents Texas Softball on the UT Student-Athlete Advisory Council.

Community

Tresselt has been active in the community for the duration of her career, giving back to the community that supports Texas Athletics. Over the past two years, Tresselt has been a regular volunteer at SafePlace Austin, an organization dedicated to ending sexual and domestic violence. Additionally, she has devoted her time to volunteering at Dell Children’s Hospital, UT Childcare Center and numerous elementary schools in the Austin community. Tresselt has spent time doing community outreach through UT Athletics’ Neighborhood Longhorns program and has helped promote community fitness at the Marathon Kids event held each fall on the Texas campus. The senior has also spent her time volunteering for UT’s Orange Santa and Longhorn Halloween programs, while also dedicating her time to the Marbridge Foundation.

Competition

Texas’ all-time leader in career saves, Tresselt is the unquestioned veteran leader of the 2010 Longhorns’ pitching staff. The Horns’ go-to reliever over the past three seasons, Tresselt has made 68 career appearances in the circle, a mark that ranks eighth all-time in UT’s rich pitching history. Tresselt has been a master of control during her UT career, ranking No. 1 all-time in fewest walks allowed per-game (1.16). Her 2.03 career earned run average ranks seventh all-time at Texas, while her 1.14 ERA in 2007 ranked ninth nationally. Despite her role as a reliever, Tresselt has notched 17 victories in her career and ranks ninth all-time at UT in wins.
