Ethan Finlay

Classroom

Finlay, a marketing major, carries a 3.41 cumulative grade point average. He is a Dean’s List honoree, a member of the CoSIDA Academic All-District VII First-Team and an MVC Scholar-Athlete First-Team member.

Character

Finlay serves as a member of the Creighton Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), is the team’s captain and was named the inaugural Creighton Male Athlete of the Year in 2010.

Community

Finlay has performed community service hours for several organizations, helping collect for Haitian relief, helping the homeless and the Siena Francis House Homeless Shelter, participating as a member of the Just Read program and working at numerous soccer clinics for area youth.

Competition

Finaly was a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist (2010), an NSCAA Second-Team All-American (2010), a two-time NSCAA First-Team All-Midwest Region team member (2009, 2010), the MVC Player of the Year (2010) and a two-time MVC First-Teamer (2009, 2010). He ranked 6th in the NCAA in goals per game (0.75) and 7th in goals scored (15) in 2010.  He ranked 7th in the NCAA with 34 points and 9th in points per game (1.7) in 2010. He begins his senior season ranked 6th in the storied history of Creighton soccer with 29 career goals. He owns single-season and career records for goals and points at Creighton’s Morrison Stadium and has led the MVC in game-winning goals in each of his first three seasons (14 of his 29 career goals are game-winners).
