She earned the C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal in 2012 and was a 2013 NFCA Division I Scholar-Athlete and a two-time conference all-academic team selection. She has been a member of the Student-Athlete Leadership Institute for two years and served on the SAAC.

Character

Sullivan lost her father in Feb. 2013, just prior to the start of her sophomore season. Playing Division-I softball because of her dad, she considered giving up softball after his death. Instead, she returned to the team and now plays every game in his honor. She posted her first 4.0 semester following his death.

In 2014, Sullivan led UCF, one of the youngest teams in the NCAA Tournament, to its fifth-ever postseason appearance and its first-ever regular-season conference championship.

Community

Sullivan has participated in the Pack to Attack Hunger campaign twice since coming to UCF. She and the UCF softball team are very involved with Friends of Jaclyn, a 501(c)(3), non-profit, charitable organization that improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families. They adopted an honorary teammate through the FoJ Foundation in 2009 and provided her with access to the team and her own locker. Sullivan has helped move students into the dorms on campus and done arts and crafts with children at the medical kids clinic. She volunteers her time at softball camps and has participated in Race for a Cure and Relay for Life.

Competition

Sullivan was the 2014 American Athletic Conference Player of the Year, UCF’s first since 2005. She was an NFCA Mideast All-Region Second Team honoree in 2014 and also led the team in home runs. Sullivan set program records for doubles and RBI as a freshman and ranks in the top 10 in UCF career records in 10 categories, including batting average and home runs. In 2014, also she set a program record for most hits in a game.
